Current Information:94, Mortimer Road, Dalston Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, Belgium On 6th September, 1915, 8th King’s Royal Rifle Corps of 41 Brigade, 14th Division went into the trenches in the north-east of the Ypres salient in the Haymarket sector near Wieltje. Conditions were awful. It had been raining a lot and the trenches were knee deep in mud but here they stayed, one company at a time in front whilst the others toiled away constructing dug-outs, until they were relieved on 21st September. Rifleman Weakford died of wounds on 11th September, 1915, but as yet there is no information as to when and where he was wounded.
